Control What Clients See
Settings → Data Visibility is where you control exactly what your clients can see in their portals. Every toggle takes effect immediately across every active portal.
Defaults are conservative
The most sensitive fields are off by default and labeled with a SENSITIVE badge. That's the safe starting point — turn them on only when you're sure your client agreements allow it.
The toggles
Financial:
- Budget / Fee Information —
off(SENSITIVE) — fee amounts and budget consumption - Hours Logged —
on— actual hours by discipline - Hourly Rates —
off(SENSITIVE) — billing rates next to hours - Project Profitability —
off(SENSITIVE) — margin data
Team:
- Team Member Names —
on— first name + last initial - Full Team Profiles —
off— full names, roles, contact info - Team Utilization —
off(SENSITIVE) — capacity per person
Content:
- Internal Task Notes —
off(SENSITIVE) — task descriptions and internal comments
Access:
- Cross-Project Visibility —
on— contacts see all projects for their company
Changes apply immediately
Flipping a toggle takes effect on the next portal page load. There's no scheduled rollout or pending state.
Warning banner
The page footer reads:
Enabling sensitive fields exposes financial data to external portal users. Review your client agreements before sharing.
That's not legal advice — it's a nudge to check the contract before turning on something that could create a conflict.
